Is it right for the Freemasons to block a pending member w/o valid reason?
Pardon me for posting it here, but I need answers.
My dad is e pending member of the Masons. At first, it feels fine to me, though it seems strange and new hearing him calling some people 'sir'. Eventually, I've been used to it.
It's not until recently, I've heard my dad talking to my mom about one of their 'sirs' has been underestimating him on his face. This quite angered me and almost convinced him to quit it, but he insisted on going.
This 'sir' talks about how new members lessens the real essence of being a Mason(he's probably talking about people who use the brotherhood merely for good image), and insisted on not accepting new members like my Dad. That 'sir' also judged my dad, as he have talked to others that maybe my dad couldn't afford being a Freemason because of what he thinks lack of money. We're completely capable of funding our miscellaneous, and even help other people in many sorts of ways.
That 'sir' has also been collecting 5,000php for these pending members including my dad. My dad said it's the way it is though he confessed they had seen many cause of doubts.
This 'sir' isn't being fair for every time my dad goes to their meeting, he always come home quite drunk. The 'sirs' always drank tons of liquors in which I haven't heard as common in other Freemasons in other places. My father insisted on letting it be, because if he took matter of this they will both be blocked.
Please someone explain this to me?
